Where the love of music is nurtured, excellence is encouraged, inspiration is found.

Where you will be equipped for a lifelong journey of musical enjoyment.

I have been teaching piano for the last 16 years. I was fortunate to grow up in the small but vibrant farming and arts town of Te Awamutu with plenty of performing, competition, and exam opportunities. I first learnt with Elsbeth Gilmore in Otorohanga and then Beverly Bryant in Te Awamutu. After high school, I moved to Wellington to study with Diedre Irons at Victoria University/New Zealand School of Music. I also studied composition and orchestral conducting. During my studies I was the accompanist for the Wellington Youth Choir and also became their student conductor.

I love passing on the love of music to my students. I have taught from ages 3-63. I am happy for my students to learn for fun or enjoy the extra challenge of exams. I am always looking for new and exciting ways of teaching. I aim to have a concert at the end of each term and organise regular performance visits to a local rest home during the school holidays. As a member of the Institute of Registered Music Teachers (IRMT) I am also able to put students forward to compete in the local competitions.
